Linear-Type Voltage Regulators

Linear Voltage Regulators work on the same principle as Servo Voltage Stabilizers.

Output Voltage is monitored continuously and compared to a reference Standard Voltage. The deviation actuates a servo mechanism whereby a small voltage is added or subtracted to Mains Voltage to obtain a stable Output Voltage which remains within ±1 % of the set Output Voltage. Thus for a Mains variation of 300 - 500 Volts (depending on the range of the Linear Voltage Stabilizer), the Output voltage is maintained automatically at 400 ± 1 %.

ieco® Linear Voltage Regulators are predominantly meant for Balanced Mains-Balanced Load type of industrial or large-power installations where equipment is mostly three Phase Machines / Motors. These Regulators have linear auto-variable transformers with Rolling Contact carbon brushes. Linear topology facilitates vertical configuration. As a result, the footprint is small compared to Toroidal type of Servo Voltage Stabilizers.

These Voltage Regulators are meant to be installed on Incoming Mains of Medium to Large Establishments of 50 to 3000 KVA. Once installed on incoming Mains, the Regulator takes care of Voltage Fluctuations 24x7 365 days and protects the Plant / Machines against Malfunction, Breakdown or Overheating. 

Besides providing protection, Linear Voltage Regulator installed on Mains improves Power Factor and MDI, thereby saving on  Energy Bills wherever Mains is beyond ± 5% of 400 Volts. If there is higher deviation in Mains Voltage, substantial savings in Energy Bill is realised.
